Who am I ?
Hi, I’m Jan Harries.
I grew up with music, and various instruments that our parents provided.
Very early music and sounds became my favorite thing, and I wanted to learn the piano.
At age 12, my brother and me had a little 3 man Rockband that our school headmaster “Madsen” had initialized. My brother on bass, me on guitar, Henrik on drums.
One year later i began to play a violin that i got from grandfather, and then came 1985 where I got a home computer, a Commodore 64.
It has a small synthesizer chip, and i could finally begin creating electronic music.
Later I started using some synthesizers, and VST.
VST Effect Plugins
For mixing and mastering, I use mainly these VST and DAW’s
Izotope Ozone
to process most aspects of the sound
https://www.izotope.com/en/products/ozone.html
Cytomic The Glue Compressor
to give your drums and bass the extra nudge, if needed
https://cytomic.com/glue
Kotelnikov Compressor
more extra nudges, but not so violent as “The Glue”

Infected Mushroom Pusher
some types of music benefit from this, but it ain’t classical 🙂

Youlean Loudness Meter
it is used to control the final volume output, so that published music on Apple Music and Spotify will have room to add their “Loudness” (-13 LUFS)

Renoise (DAW)
this is a music “Tracker” which I use for composing and mixing. It has many built in effects of various sorts

Studio One (DAW)
also used for composing, mixing, mastering
